It’s been a little while since I posted. Things have been quiet for me on the blogging front lately, but I haven’t been idle. I’m putting together a book all about writing for relaxation.
It’s a project that is close to my heart and I can’t wait to share it with you when it’s ready. Watch this space.
In the meantime, I’ve taken a quick break from the book to have some fun with one of my go-to forms of poetry: the acrostic.
When that yearning takes hold,
Reeling me in, creativity calling,
I know I must make space,
Take time for myself,
Invest in my own health,
Not let daily distractions
Give me yet another excuse.
For writing is worth it,
Of all the things I could do, the chance to
Relax and make something tangible and new.
Remember that gift of play?
Exploring new worlds,
Learning new things about myself,
Allowing the words to flow,
X-ray vision into my soul,
Affording me release and relief,
The chance to unburden my mind.
I feel proud of myself
On those days when I say:
Now it’s time to write.
